چکیده
Background/Aims: Screening for gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) are currently done at 24 - 28 weeks of conception, missing out on the most vulnerable period organogenesis and thus preventing clinicians from starting treatments until late second or third trimester. MicroRNAs (miR) small non-coding RNA molecules that could aid in detecting predicting GDM through establishing a novel non-invasive prenatal testing (NIPT) tool. The objective this study was to summarize recent updates plasma microRNAs as diagnostic biomarkers. Methods: Between April June 2021, PubMed literature search undertaken review articles human miR associated with GDM. Animal studies papers written languages other than English were excluded. Only miRNAs used avoid coagulation biases. Results: A total 31 found significantly upregulated samples patients It mainly during 2nd 3rd trimester except miR-223 miR-23a 9 – 11 gestation. Conclusion: Though extensive prospective cohort required, should be considered promising develop successful NIPT tool because they earliest, first J MEDICINE 2022; 23: 146-150

Diagnosis of Gestational Diabetes Mellitus
Despite recent attempts at building consensus, an internationally consistent definition of gestational diabetes mellitus remains elusive. Within and between countries there is disagreement between obstetric, medical and endocrine groups as to the diagnosis and management of GDM. The current article aims to discuss the background to the controversy of GDM diagnosis and to address issues related ...
متن کاملRecent Updates on Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus Management for Clinicians
Type 1 diabetes mellitus (T1DM) is a chronic autoimmune condition that requires life-long administration of insulin. Optimal management of T1DM entails a good knowledge and understanding of this condition both by the physician and the patient. Recent introduction of novel insulin preparations, technological advances in insulin delivery and glucose monitoring, such as continuous subcutaneous ins...

Introduction: Gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) is defined as any degree of glucose intolerance with onset or first recognition during pregnancy. The prevalence range from 1 to 14% of all pregnancies, depending on the population studied and the diagnostic tests employed. Risk assessment for GDM should be undertaken at the prenatal visit. Women with clinical characteristics of GDM should und...
متن کاملA Fuzzy Expert System & Neuro-Fuzzy System Using Soft Computing For Gestational Diabetes Mellitus Diagnosis
Gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) is a kind of diabetes that requires persistent medical care in patient self management education to prevent acute complications. One of the common and main problems in diagnosis of the diabetes is the weakness in its initial stages of the illness. This paper intends to propose an expert system in order to diagnose the risk of GDM by using FIS model. The knowl...
متن کاملApplication of adjusted-receiver operating characteristic curve analysis in combination of biomarkers for early detection of gestational diabetes mellitus
Introduction: In medical diagnostic field, evaluation of diagnostic accuracy of biomarkers or tests has always been a matter of concern. In some situations, one biomarker alone may not be sufficiently sensitive and specific for prediction of a disease. However, combining multiple biomarkers may lead to better diagnostic. The aim of this study was to assess the performance of combination of bio...
